Available Plans

Plan type Contract Length Features Early termination fee Our Thoughts
Residential fixed rate 6, 12, 24 months
  • With a base charge of $9.95
  • No renewable plans available
  • Switches to their standard variable rate at the end of the contract period, unless you ask not to renew the contract, which must be done 1 month before the end of the contract
$199 - 399
  • High termination fees
  • Little choice in the offers. This has the advantage of being less confusing.
  • T&C's are rather clear. All the charges (provider and utility company) are grouped in one rate, which is easier to understand.
  • As for most other suppliers, the plan switches to a variable rate at the end of the contract period. You must therefore notify Andeler Power that you do not wish to do this switch. You must do this approximately 1 month before the end of the contract end.
  • Variable rates with Andeler Power can vary each month at the discretion of the provider. You can find yourself paying a price per kWh much higher than initially, so watch out.
Residential variable rate 1 month
  • With a base charge of $12.95
  • No renewable plans available
  • The tariff shown in the offer will only be the 1st month's price. In the following months, the price will change.
  • The value of these monthly variable rates are at the discretion of the supplier. This means that the price can suddenly increase for several months without the provider having to justify this.
none
  • Some customers have reported making savings with some providers, but we recommend caution. We generally do not recommend variable rates with providers where the price can change at the discretion of the provider.

Description of the Plan Types

Fixed Rate Plans

A fixed rate is a rate whose price (in ¢/kWh) does not change over the whole period of the contract. However, consumers should be aware that many energy retailers will automatically transfer their customers to a variable rate once their fixed rate contract has finished. Find out more about what a fixed rate is.

Customers report that they appreciate savings on fixed rate electricity plans from Andeler Power. Fixed rate plans can often be a good deal if you are able to lock in a good rate at the right time of year.

Electricity customers should opt for fixed rate contracts of longer periods of time (6 months or more). Electricity prices per kilowatt-hour fluctuate throughout the year, and you may actually lose money by not being able to take advantage of prices when they are low. However, because electricity prices tend to increase over time, locking in fixed rates for longer periods may prove advantageous and deliver savings.

Variable Rate Plans

A variable rate is a rate (in ¢/kWh) that changes every month. How the rate changes can be at the discretion of the supplier, or it might be based on a specific mathematical formula and/or based on an energy index. We recommend this rate if you are planning on moving out in less than 6 months. Find out more about variable rates.

Base Charges

All tariffs with Andeler Power contain a base charge. This means that no matter how much you consume, you will to pay a minimum fixed price per month. Therefore, the total price per kWh will not be the same depending on your consumption. The price will change if you consume 500 kWh, 1000 kWh, or 2000 kWh. If you do not know your monthly energy consumption, please use our Estimation Tool.

Green Energy Plans

Andeler Power does not offer 100% green energy plans, and offers only 2% renewable energy in their electricity mix. This is well below the Texas average of 10.7%.
