Contact PPL Electric Utilities
Log on to your online account
You can request to close your account online, through your online account with PPL Electric. To do so, simply log in to your online account on the PPL Electric Utilities website, and follow the directions online.
Activate an account online
To close your account with PPL Electric Utilities, you will need to provide the following information:
- The date you would like service to stop (i.e. your moving date)
- A forwarding mailing address
- That's it!

What if I have multiple accounts?
If you have more than one account with PPL Electric Utilities you will have to complete a Stop Service request for each account.
What if I have credit on my bill or my security deposit hasn't been returned?
Any credit remaining on your account will be refunded on your final bill. This includes your security deposit and any interest that you may have earned. If your credit is more than the balance of your final bill, the remaining amount to be refunded will be mailed to your forwarding address.
What if I need the meter removed from the building?
Call a customer service representative at 1-800-342-5775 between 8:00 a.m and 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday to make an appointment to have the meter removed from the building.
Can I close my account retroactively (for a date in the past)?
No. You cannot stop service from PPL Electric Utilities for a date in the past.
