In Texas, the main utilities, such as AEP Texas, are subjected to the energy deregulation laws, and do not supply electricity. They only perform the delivery, and do not have a customer service for billing and payments. For this, you must directly contact your retail energy provider.


Retail energy providers (REP)

Retail energy providers are responsible for issuing billing and receiving payments from customers serviced by AEP Texas. This is because AEP Texas is a utility company and only performs delivery. You can contact AEP Texas, but only to report technical problems with your service, such as problems with your meter, or an electricity outage.
