Moving from the CoServ Electric service area to another part of Texas? A majority of Texas residents live in deregulated electric zones where the competition between +70 electric providers enables the power to choose from electricity plans that offer 100% renewable energy, rate type options, or even annual freezes on summer rates!

CoServ Electric electricity plans for residents

When moving to a new home that is within the CoServ Electric service area, new residents will quickly realize that there is no "power to choose" an electric provider - like the majority of Texans are able to enjoy.

CoServ Electric defines the "ON-peak" times as:

  • All year from 3pm - 8pm
  • plus, two additional hours: November through April from 6am - 8am

The "OFF-peak" times CoServ Electric defines as: all hours that are outside of the "on-peak" hours.

Best customer for the Time of Use plan by CoServ Electric The Time of Use plan would mostly benefit residents who can definitely avoid the "On-peak" hours (every day of the week).
One factor to keep in mind is the nearly-triple "on-peak" rate that will kick-in for the baseline electricity a household uses when no one is home (refrigeration, "vampire" lights, etc).

Choose the Wind Rate : CoServ Electric electricity plan for residents

Since 2009, CoServ Electric has enabled residents to support the renewable energy market with wind-produced electricity. For customers who find that installing, owning, and maintaining a wind turbine -quite frankly- impossible, CoServ:

  • purchases local renewable wind generation resources, and
  • retires Renewable Energy Credits equivalent to the amount of monthly kWh consumed
