TriEagle Energy plans in Dallas, Houston, west and south Texas
Within the service areas of utilities companies Oncor Electric Delivery, CenterPoint Eenrgy, AEP Texas, and Texas-New Mexico Power, TriEagle Energy offers the same electricity plans and features, but with different rates per utility company:
Eagle 12, 24, 36
SMART Energy 12, 24, 36
Green Eagle 12, 24, 36
Unlike many providers (Reliant Energy, TXU Energy, Gexa Energy, and on...), TriEagle Energy sets plan charges to absorb each utility company's charges. So the energy rate and monthly delivery fee imposed by Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP, and TNMP are combined into TriEagle Energy's electricity rate and base charge - quite convenient!
TriEagle Energy prides their "no-hidden-fees" plans, weekly usage reports send to all customers, and (only with a SMART Energy plan) a smart Wi-Fi thermostat & Home Optimization.
TriEagle Energy : Renewable energy plans
TriEagle offers 100% renewable energy fixed-rate plans. Because electricity is delivered via indirect paths on a shared grid, this does not mean that the electricity that reaches your house comes 100% from renewable sources. Rather, a green energy plan might mean that your provider has agreed to purchase this equivalent amount of electricity from renewable sources.
Non-renewable energy in TriEagle Energy's standard plans only include 6% renewable content, which is substantially less than the state average of 21%.
Cancelling a TriEagle plan
Cancellation fees are standard with TriEagle. Every plan that is offered contains an early termination fee of $20 per month remaining on the contract.
TriEagle Energy : Electricity plans with fixed rates
A fixed rate is the ¢/kWh energy cost whose rated price does not change over the term of the contract. Once the contract is finished, unless you renew it or terminate it, it will automatically switch to a variable rate.
Electricity customers looking for a fixed rate plan should choose a plan with a term of 12 months or longer. Electricity prices per kilowatt-hour change throughout the year, and you may actually lose money by not being able to take advantage of prices when they are low.
Rate type | TriEagle Energy plan: | Contract length (months) | Features | Base fee and Early termination fee |
---|---|---|---|---|
Fixed rate | Eagle | 12, 24, or 36 | Lowest energy rates offered | $4.95/month $20/month remaining |
SMART Energy | 12, 24, or 36 | Free Smart Wi-Fi thermostat | $4.95/month $20/month remaining |
|
Green Eagle | 12, 24, or 36 | 100% renewable energy | $4.95/month $20/month remaining |
Saving on fixed rate TriEagle Energy plans
Customers report that they appreciate savings on fixed rate electricity plans from TriEagle. Fixed rate plans can often be a good deal if you are able to lock in a good rate at the right time of year.
Electricity customers should opt for fixed rate contracts of 24 or 36 months. Electricity prices per kilowatt-hour fluctuate throughout the year, and customers may actually overspend by not being able to take advantage of prices when they are low. However, because electricity prices tend to increase over time, locking in fixed rates for longer periods may prove advantageous and deliver savings.
Tip on fixed rates Locking in a fixed rate for longer periods may keep more cash in your account, since electricity prices tend to increase over time.
Base fee charges in TriEagle Energy electricity plans
Base fee charges (a monthly fee) are often applied to plans, or may kick-in when consumption drops under a certain level (often considered a minimum usage fee charge). Nearly all plans with TriEagle Energy use base fee charges regardless of kWh use per month, and most of the base fee charges in TriEagle's plans is $4.95 per month.
