No Cancellation Fees

Traditionally, alternative suppliers charge customers an early cancellation fee, if they'd like to exit their fixed rate contract sooner than agreed upon. Plymouth Rock Energy actually does not charge a termination fee, which offers consumers flexibility to exit a contract if it is no longer meeting their needs. Thirty days written notice is required, however, to cancel a contract before the end of a term.

Fixed Rate Options

Variable rates with Plymouth Rock Energy are not regulated by your state government, which means they are subject to lots of fluctuation - and could very well end up being more expensive than your local utility. We do not recommend variable or hybrid plans for residential customers. Instead, fixed rate options are your best bet, though we recommend different contract term lengths depending on whether you are a natural gas or an electricity customer.

For natural gas, one year or less is a good fixed rate term length, provided you lock your price in during the winter, when prices are ironically lower. Natural gas prices fluctuate heavily throughout the year but tend to decline over time. For elecricity, we recommend 18 months to two years, since prices rise over time, but a fixed rate contract may keep you from saving when market prices are low over shorter periods of time.

Customer Reviews

Many customers report that Plymouth Rock Energy responds well to their concerns and requests, and that they have saved a lot on fixed rate plans. The Better Business Bureau has given it an A+ rating.

However, others have found customer service to be slow with excessive wait times. Additionally, variable rate plans are not a good option.
