Fixed versus Variable Rates

We do not recommend variable rates with Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) like EC P&G, because rates are not regulated by your local government and can end up being more expensive than rates with your local utility.

Customers should opt for fixed rate contracts instead. By locking in a competitive rate, customers can save on the rate they pay for electricity per kilowatt-hour or for natural gas per therm over time.

Rewards Program

Customers are automatically enrolled into East Coast Power & Gas' rewards program. In the rewards program, customers earn points for:

  • Signing up for service
  • Referring friends

Points can be redeemed for cash on a Discover prepaid card, and can also used to shop online.

Customer Reviews

The company has a glowing A+ review from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for customer service. BBB reports that East Coast Power & Gas does a good job of dealing with customer concerns quickly and effectively.

Some customers however may feel that variable rates may be unstable and could end up being more expensive than their local utility.
