    StarTex Power founded by Bob and Marcie Zlotnik in Houston, Texas as an employee-owned (ESOP) retail-electric provider serving the ERCOT competitive market.

  2. 2010

    Grew to 170,000 residential and commercial customers across Texas, becoming one of the largest independent REPs in the state.

  3. 2011

    Constellation Energy signed a definitive merger agreement on 27 May to acquire StarTex Power for $142.5 million in an all-cash transaction; the deal closed on 1 June 2011, giving Constellation a foothold in the ERCOT mass market.

  4. 2012

    Exelon completed its merger with Constellation Energy, making StarTex Power an indirect subsidiary of Exelon Generation.

  5. 2018

    The StarTex Power brand was officially retired on 20 June; all remaining residential and small-business customers were transitioned to Constellation's NewEnergy / Constellation retail platform.
