More About Fixed Rate Plans

Fixed rates provide security and peace of mind, by locking in a stable price that doesn't change over the length of the contract. In general we recommend fixed rate plans of 12 months or longer, as customers with tend to report higher savings on longer fixed term contracts, particularly if they have managed to find a good rate at the right time of year. This is because electricity prices per kilowatt-hour fluctuate throughout the year, and you may actually lose money by not being able to take advantage of prices when they are low. However, because electricity prices tend to increase over time, locking in fixed rates for longer periods may prove advantageous and deliver savings.

Customer Service Ratings

Veteran Energy has an A rating with the Better Business Bureau, based on the small number of complaints that have been made against it relative to its size. The company has been BBB accredited, which means that it has met BBB's customer service standards, has paid an accreditation fee to the BBB and has committed to following certain customer service standards. Online customer reviews are mixed, with some customers very satisfied with their service and energy savings, and other customers dissatisfied customer service.
