We recommend fixed rates with alternate suppliers because you can save over time in the rate you pay for natural gas per therm, because it fluctuates so much over the course of a year that customers can really economize. However, we do not recommend contracts that last longer than one year, because the price of natural gas actually is decreasing over time.
