Insider tip
PUD offices in coastal Oregon still take walk-ins
Unlike most big investor-owned utilities, which closed their in-person bill-pay windows years ago, Oregon's coastal PUDs and cooperatives have generally kept a staffed front counter. At the Newport office at 2129 N. Coast Hwy, you can usually start service, pay a bill, get a duplicate, or ask about a payment plan in person during business hours.
Always call ahead to confirm hours before you drive over, especially in the off-season; check the current schedule on clpud.org. And reserve walk-in trips for non-urgent matters: if your power is out, dial 541-265-3211 first so the dispatcher can roll a crew while you stay safe at home.
