Ways to Pay Your PSEG Long Island Bill
In person, over the phone, by cash, credit, check and more, you have options when it comes to paying your PSEG Long Island bill
You have two options if you would like to pay your PSEG Long Island electric bill in person: either you can visit one of PSEG Long Island's 12 customer service centers located throughout Long Island and Queens, or you can visit an authorized pay station.
PSEG Long Island's customer service centers are open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except holidays). They accept payment by cash, check, or money order, and there are no additional fees charged to process your payment. Please note, however, that they do not accept payment by credit or debit card. Authorized pay stations are privately owned stores that accept your PSEG Long Island electric bill payments, but will charge a processing fee which may be different depending on the location. They may accept payment by cash, credit or debit card, or check, but it is a good idea to call them in advance to find out which payment types they accept. Over the Phone
You can pay your bill over the phone by calling toll-free 1-800-490-0025 or 631-755-6000. These numbers are connected to an automated system, meaning that you can pay anytime of the day, 24/7. Note that PSEG Long Island only accepts payment over the phone from your bank account. You may also be able to speak to a customer service representative if you call between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays (excluding holidays). You can also use this number to sign up for Balanced Billing or to request a payment arrangement.
PSEG Long Island uses Western Union's SpeedyPay service for credit/debit card payments. If you would like to pay by credit card, you can either call one of the above numbers and be transferred to SpeedyPay, or you can call SpeedyPay directly at 1-888-608-6669. SpeedyPay accepts the following cards:
- American Express
- Cards with the STAR, NYCE, PULSE or ACCEL logos
Make sure to have your credit/debit card and PSEG Long Island Customer ID or Account Number on hand. SpeedyPay accepts up to four (4) payments every 30 days, in installments of up to $600 for residential customers. Please note that they charge a $2.95 processing fee per transaction, which will appear on your credit or debit card statement, not your electric bill. PSEG Long Island does not receive any portion of this fee. You have the option of saving your card information for future use through the system.
You can also pay by credit/debit card online.
PSEG Long Island has a mobile-friendly site for payment online from your smartphone at m.psegliny.com. Please note that you must have an online account set up to use this service.
If you would like to mail your payment, make sure to include your bill stub along with a check or money order (no cash) to the following address:

It is a good idea to write your account number on the back of your check. In order to ensure that your payment arrives on time, it is a good idea to mail payment at least one week before the due date.
You have several options for paying your bill online:
One Time Payment
You can pay your bill online by logging in to your PSEG Long Island My Account. PSEG Long Island accepts online payments from your checking or savings account.
For credit/debit card payment, PSEG Long Island uses Western Union's SpeedyPay service, available at psegli.speedpay.com. SpeedyPay accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and cards with the STAR, NYCE, PULSE or ACCEL logos. SpeedyPay charges a $2.95 per transaction service fee, and accepts up to four (4) payments within 30 days, with a limit of $600 per payment for residential customers.
You may also be able to pay your bill via your bank's website. Check http://www.ebillplace.com/ or your bank's website to find out more.
With DirectPay your bill amounts are automatically deducted from your bank account (checking or savings). You can choose to continue receiving your paper bills as usual, or sign up for paperless billing. The advantage of choosing this option is that you avoid paying late fees (your bill amount is automatically deducted from your account twenty days after the bill issue date), though you will need to make sure that you always will have enough money in your account in order to avoid insufficient funds charges.
You can enroll in DirectPay at any time, by phone, online, or by downloading and completing an application form (found on PSEG Long Island's website) and mailing it to:

PSEG Long Island recommends allowing four to six weeks for processing. Once you have enrolled for DirectPay, continue to pay your bill as you normally would until you are notified otherwise. You will receive a message on your bill confirming your participation date.
If you have any questions about your bill while on the DirectPay program, you should call PSEG Long Island at 1-800-490-0025 at least five (5) business days before the payment date shown on your bill PSEG Long Island does not charge anything for DirectPay, though you should check with your bank to make sure that they don't charge any fees for automated payment.

Need Help With Your Bill?
Call PSEG Long Island at 1-800-490-0025 if you think that you will not be able to pay your bill. You may be able to make a special arrangement or request an extention on your bill. There are various payment assistance programs for people who have difficulty in paying their bill due to low income, medical difficulties, or for other reasons:
- Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP): this is a federal grant program which helps eligible customers in paying for energy costs, repairs and weatherization. Customers may receive either a regular monthly payment, or an emergency one-time payment. For the 2014 - 2015 period, the funds opened November 17, 2014, and closed on March 27, 2015. The Department of Social Services will accept applications on or after those dates.
- Household Assistance Rate: this rate reduces the delivery rates and the system charges (as opposed to the supply charges) of your bill.
- Project Warmth: this is an emergency assistance program offered to help homes in cases of energy emergencies.
- Residential Energy Affordability Partnership (REAP): REAP is a PSEG Long Island program for income-eligible customers in order to help them save energy and lower their electric bills.
