Tips before you call
- 1Have your last bill or the 15-digit account number ready. PSE&G uses it to authenticate you and to route the call.
- 2For start of service, you also need a photo ID, the new address with apt number, the date you take possession, and a forwarding address if you are closing out a different account.
- 3For payment-plan questions, call the dedicated collections line at 1-800-357-2262: shorter queue and the agents are authorized to set up a plan in one call.
- 4If you suspect a scam call, hang up and dial PSE&G directly. A legitimate PSE&G agent can verify your account by reading back the last five digits.
