Tips before you call

  • 1Have your 10-digit PPL account number ready (top-right of any recent bill). It authenticates you and routes the call to the right queue.
  • 2For start of service, also have your Social Security number, photo ID, new service address with unit number, and the move-in date. Call at least 2 business days in advance.
  • 3For payment plans or CAP / OnTrack, call the dedicated 1-800-358-6623 line. Shorter queue, and the agents are authorized to set up a plan on the spot.
  • 4If you suspect a scam call, hang up and dial PPL directly. A legitimate representative can verify your account number and your last bill amount; scammers demand prepaid debit cards, gift cards or wire transfers and threaten same-hour shut-off.
  • 5If PPL refuses a reasonable payment plan or you have a billing dispute they will not resolve, file a free complaint with the PA PUC Bureau of Consumer Services at 1-800-692-7380.
